U.S. Army air defenders from the 5th Battalion, 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment had the opportunity to work with their Lithuanian Allies in a complex environment during exercise Ramstein Legacy 2022. The exercise showcased the Avenger's shoot-on-the-move capability through live air engagement training. The battle management system operators achieved a common air picture with their Lithuanian Allies for the first time. This achievement enhances the interoperability between NATO units.
Ramstein Legacy is a Bi-annual, live-fly, integrated air & missile defense exercise that integrates Allied air and SBAMD units under NATO command & control in a complex, comprehensive LIVE environment across Europe. This exercise will enhance multi-domain interoperability and unit readiness. Consequently, NATO Allies will be better able to safeguard and protect Alliance territory, populations and forces from air and missile threat or attack.
