Ray Obispo, President of the Filipino National Historical Society-Hampton Roads Chapter, provides some remarks during an unveiling and dedication of a Virginia Historical Marker honoring Filipino Sailors in the U.S. Navy on May 28, 2022. The event occurred at the Philippine Cultural Center of Virginia in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Obispo is also a teacher at Salem High School in Virginia Beach, where he also serves as the sponsor of the Filipino American Culture Society, the longest running high school organization of its kind on the east coast.
