220509-N-BR419-1064 PACIFIC OCEAN (May 9, 2022) Sailors use a firefighting hose to test for agent in the hangar bay of the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), during a test of the ship’s Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF) system. AFFF is often used in shipboard and shore facility fire suppression systems, fire fighting vehicles, and at fire training facilities. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the United States, and supports alliances, partnerships and collective maritime interests in the Indo-Pacific region.
