People collect water from a water system rehabilitated with USAID funding in September 2021 in the Bani Essa Mahqanah Sub-District of Jabal Habashy District in Ta’izz Governorate, Yemen. The rehabilitation, which improved access to clean water for 850 individuals, included construction of a water reservoir and installation of a solar-powered water pump. Access to clean water helps stem the spread of communicable diseases such as cholera.
