JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 13, 2022) - Lt. Madalyn Wright, a nurse at Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s Labor and Delivery, attaches a birthing bar to a labor bed. Wright holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of North Florida. A native of Cocoa Beach, Florida, she says, “I love nursing because I can help and support my patients through the entire process of birth.” Nurses Week (May 6-12) is celebrated in commemoration of the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.
