    Army Medicine History

The “Rona 4.0” device was developed for the protection of Respiratory Personnel while intubating Covid-19 patients. It is a Plexiglas box set up for negative pressure airflow, using a shop vac attached to the rubber fixture on top, and was developed in early 2020, by MAJ Timothy Yourk, CRNA, and members of the 11th FH ADVON unit at the Javits Center, in New York City, while supporting efforts to care for victims of the “COVID 19” pandemic in early 2020. It received a EUA (Emergency Use Authorization) from the FDA. (U.S. Army photo by Francis S. Trachta/Released)
