Yeoman 3rd Class Alex Singleton, from Bessemer City, North Carolina, is relieved as nozzle man by Yeoman 3rd Class Walter Drda, from Mercer, Pennsylvania, both assigned to USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) administration department, during a phase III crew certification damage control evaluation Jan 26, 2022. Phase III Crew Certification focuses on how the ship’s training teams accomplish necessary crew training needed to return the ship to sea. Ford is in port at Newport News Shipyard executing her Planned Incremental Availability (PIA), a six-month period of modernization, maintenance and repairs.
