The image shows a well deck or stern gate of a military naval vessel with two rigid inflatable boats (RIBs) operating in open water. Personnel wearing military uniforms and safety gear are visible both on the ship's deck and aboard the small craft. One of the RIBs displays a United States flag, indicating this is a U.S. Navy or U.S. Marine Corps operation, likely a small boat training exercise or boarding operation.

U.S. Marines and Sailors launch various maritime vessels during Littoral Exercise I (LEX) aboard the USS Wichita (LCS-13) on Jan. 25, 2022. During LEX I, Marines and Sailors are experimenting with new concepts and forces to prepare for future scenarios in littoral environments along the East Coast. LEX I is the first time a Blue-Green team conducted amphibious, ship-to-shore operations while embarked on a littoral combat ship. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Elijah J. Abernathy)
