    PHILIPPINE SEA (Jan. 24, 2022) Airman Hunter Williams, a native of Colorado Springs, Colo., left, and Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) Airman Christine Joven, a native of Union City, Calif., both assigned to Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2), remove chocks and chains from an MH-60S Sea Hawk Helicopter attached to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 21 on the flight deck of Essex, Jan. 24, 2022. Essex, flagship of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), along with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with alliances and partners and serve as a ready response force to ensure maritime security and a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
