A new setback levee stretches into the distance near Hamilton City, California, on the bank of the Sacramento River, December 11, 2021. The levee is part of the Hamilton City Flood Damage Reduction and Ecosystem Restoration Project, a USACE partnership with Reclamation District 2140. The project’s goal is to reduce flood risk to Hamilton City while restoring approximately 1,400 acres of riparian habitat.
