211213-N-FA490-2783 APRA HARBOR, Guam – Sailors assigned to the Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Jackson (LCS 6), the “Wildcards” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 23, and the “Island Knights” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 25, open water swim during a search and rescue exercise (SAREX). HSC-23 and Jackson, part of Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 7, are on a rotational deployment in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operation to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
