PORT OF DJIBOUTI, Djibouti (Dec. 3, 2021) – A CH-53E Super Stallion with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (11th MEU), attached to the amphibious transport dock ship USS Portland (LPD 27), sits on the flight deck. Portland is moored in the Port of Djibouti for a sustainment and logistics visit supported by Camp Lemonnier’s supply department. Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti serves as an expeditionary base for U.S. military forces providing support to ships, aircraft and personnel that ensure security throughout Europe, Africa, and Southwest Asia.
