210924-N-VQ947-2491 ARABIAN GULF (Sept. 24, 2021) — Two Landing Craft, Air Cushions attached to Assault Craft Unit Five (ACU 5) conduct LCAC operationsfrom the amphibious transport dock ship USS Portland (LPD 27), Sept. 24. ACU 5 is deployed with Portland and the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
