210924-N-VQ947-2464 ARABIAN GULF (Sept. 24, 2021) — A Landing Craft, Air Cushion attached to Assault Craft Unit Five (ACU 5) conducts LCAC operations with a SH-60 Sea Hawk helicopter attached to the “Desert Hawks” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 26 as seen from the flight deck of the amphibious transport dock ship USS Portland (LPD 27), Sept. 24. ACU 5 is deployed with Portland and the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
