    210913-N-GR655-065 GROTON, Conn. (September 13, 2021) – Brazilian Navy Rear Adm. Thadeu Lobo, commander of the Submarine Force of the Brazilian Navy, converses with U.S. Navy Cmdr. Charles Phillips, commanding officer of the nuclear-powered fast-attack submarine USS Vermont (SSN 792), during a ship orientation onboard Naval Submarine Base New London in Groton, Conn., Sept. 13. Vermont - the first Block IV Virginia-class submarine to enter service - participated in anti-submarine warfare exercises with the Brazilian Navy in the U.S. 4th Fleet area of operations in December of 2020.
