The new Iraqi air force pilots-in-training learn basic fundamentals in navigation, rescue and egress training. The students are taught by U.S. Air Force Maj. Charles Shumaker, deployed from Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, at the 52nd Expeditionary Flying Training Squadron, Kirkuk Regional Air Base, Iraq. U.S. Air Force members deployed to the 52nd Expeditionary Flying Training Squadron, Kirkuk Regional Air Base, Iraq, opened the school on Oct. 1 and began training the first new pilots of the Iraqi air force.
