Two individuals wearing black face masks are seated across from each other at a conference table in what appears to be a military operations center or command room. One person is in civilian attire while the other wears U.S. Army camouflage (OCP/MultiCam) uniform and is taking notes in a spiral notebook. In the background, multiple personnel are working at computer workstations with large display screens mounted on the wall.

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. (Aug. 5, 2021) Ron Lockerby, a member of the Joint Task Force Civil Support (JTF-CS) J6 communications section, and U.S. Air Force Col. Robert Harlan, J6 communications director, discuss potential communication shortfalls during notional hurricane response operations as part of exercise Vibrant Response 21.2. The exercise enables JTF-CS to strengthen unique capabilities, including an ability to deploy on short notice into austere environments, which are not readily available in other federal agencies or in the private sector, allowing them to position the right people and resources for life-saving and life-sustaining actions during all-hazards defense support of civil authorities operations.
