PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii (Jul. 23, 2021) Aviation Machinist’s Mate 3rd Class Samantha Edwards, from El Paso, Texas, assigned to the “Wildcards” of Helicopter Sea Combat (HSC) Squadron 23, applies sealant to a bolt on an MH-60S Sea Hawk in the hangar bay aboard the Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Jackson (LCS 6). The Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) is a fast, agile, mission-focused platform designed to operate in near-shore environments, winning against 21st-century coastal threats.
