PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii (Jul. 23, 2021) Aviation Structural Mechanic 3rd Class Stephanie Burnette, from Chattanooga, Tenn., assigned to the “Wildcards” of Helicopter Sea Combat (HSC) Squadron 23, applies screws in a panel after applying corrosion protection on circuit breakers on an MH-60S Sea Hawk in the hangar bay aboard the Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Jackson (LCS 6). The Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) is a fast, agile, mission-focused platform designed to operate in near-shore environments, winning against 21st-century coastal threats. The LCS is capable of supporting forward presence, maritime security, sea control, and deterrence. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 3rd Class Kelsey S. Culbertson/Released)
