Juliana Alvarez, an animal health technician at the Fort Shafter Veterinary Activity, directs a tour of the pharmacy while describing the process of obtaining the American Animal Hospital Association accreditation, May 19, 2021. For months the VETAC team worked toward obtaining the AAHA accreditation; a process that covers 19 functional areas which can involve 932 requirements. They earned the prestigious status on May 4, 2021, after a rigorous virtual procedure that included inspection of the clinic members, standard operating procedures and a real-time tour of the facility.
