Sgt. Clayton L. Gerrion, an animal care noncommissioned officer at the Fort Shafter Veterinary Activity, directs a tour of the dental suite while describing the process of obtaining the American Animal Hospital Association accreditation, May 19, 2021. For months the VETAC team worked toward obtaining the AAHA accreditation; a process that covers 19 functional areas which can involve 932 requirements. They earned the prestigious status on May 4, 2021, after a rigorous virtual procedure that included inspection of the clinic members, standard operating procedures and a real-time tour of the facility.
