Lance Cpl. Eddie Melendez, an air frames mechanic with Marine Transport Squadron 1, gives his fellow Marines a thumbs up, letting them know he has completed maintenance he was performing on one of the squadron's HH-46E helicopters Sept. 13. VMR-1 collaborated with the Continuous Process Improvement Program at Cherry Point to reduce the turnaround time during their scheduled phased maintenance process, increasing the amount of training and qualifications for the Marines, and improving readiness and capability for the fleet.
