    1st Combat Camera Squadron         

    An aircraft maintainer from the 146th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Channel Islands, Calif., conducts post flight and shut down procedures on a Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System equipped C-130 Hercules from the 146th Airlift Wing, after it returned to McClellan Airport in Sacramento, Calif., after flying a firefighting mission in support of the California wildfires.The aircraft flew in support of the U.S. Forest Service as they fought fires in Northern California. MAFFS is a self-contained aerial firefighting system that can discharge 3,000 gallons of water or fire retardant in less than five seconds, covering an area one-quarter of a mile long by 100-feet-wide.
