British Sgt. Ron Lessey always wanted to move to the United Kingdom while growing up in the Caribbean. When he was old enough, he did just that and then enlisted in the British army as military policemen. “I really love the whole military spirit,” Lessey said. Assigned to the 1 Regiment, Royal Military Police, Lessey is currently deployed to Croatia in support of DEFENDER-Europe 21. He has teamed up with fellow U.S. and Croatian military police to ensure the safety of their fellow soldiers, civilian contractors, and local residents as they oversee the transportation of military equipment from the port to training areas across the region. “I like working with the different units and seeing how they work differently,” he said.
