JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 9, 2021) - Linda Kaiser, a nurse at Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s Family Medicine Clinic, takes notes to relay patient information to a provider. Kaiser, a native of Kansas, Missouri, says, “My job includes a variety of things for our patients, including renewing medications, ordering labs, and making referrals. It’s very important to ensure everyone is on the same track.” Nurses Week (May 6 – 12) is celebrated in commemoration of the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. Military and civilian nurses play leading roles in maintaining military health and readiness. (U.S. Navy photo by Deidre Smith, Naval Hospital Jacksonville/Released). #FacesofNHJax
