Military ground crew personnel are conducting fueling and servicing operations on a large U.S. Air Force aircraft on a flight line, likely at a desert air base. A tan fuel truck (numbered 156) is connected to the aircraft via hoses, while multiple personnel in camouflage uniforms work around the aircraft's underside. The environment and aircraft markings are consistent with a U.S. Air Force transport or tanker aircraft at a forward operating location.

U.S. Airmen with the 816th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron and 379th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron remove a fuel hose after conducting C-17 Globemaster III hot refueling operations during a training and certification mission at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, April 9, 2021. The 816th EAS and 379th ELRS Airmen performed multiple iterations of a process where the Aerial Bulk Fuel Delivery System was drained into an R-11 fuel truck, then the engines were left running for hot refueling from the truck to the aircraft, as well as a defueling process from the plane back to the fuel truck. This operational capability enables the Air Force Air Mobility Command to support joint service partners in Agile Combat Employment. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Tech. Sgt. Brigette Waltermire)
