The image is taken from inside the open cargo bay of a large military transport aircraft, looking outward onto an airfield tarmac. Several military personnel in camouflage uniforms are standing near the rear ramp, alongside a fuel/service truck marked with 'NO SMOKING WITHIN 50 FT' and 'FLAMMABLE' warnings. The scene appears to depict a ground refueling or servicing operation at a military airfield.

U.S. Airmen with the 816th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron and 379th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron prepare to fuel a truck using the Aerial Bulk Fuel Delivery System during a C-17 Globemaster III hot refueling training and certification mission at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, April 9, 2021. The 816th EAS and 379th ELRS Airmen performed multiple iterations of a process where the Aerial Bulk Fuel Delivery System was drained into an R-11 fuel truck, then the engines were left running for hot refueling from the truck to the aircraft, as well as a defueling process from the plane back to the fuel truck. This operational capability enables the Air Force Air Mobility Command to support joint service partners in Agile Combat Employment. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Tech. Sgt. Brigette Waltermire)
