A bird’s eye view from the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory Scientific Development Squadron (VXS) 1’s UV-18 Twin Otter flying over the Chugach Islands Jan. 31 to evaluate ocean bubble fields and their characteristics to help better predict the ocean environment for U.S. Navy operations. VXS-1 conducts airborne scientific experimentation and advanced technology development in worldwide operations supporting U.S. Navy and national science and technology priorities.
