    An excavator works with the soil-bentonite clay mix, the ingredients for a seepage cut-off wall under construction on that will beside the Dallas East Levee, July 24. The city of Dallas is working to certify that the Trinity River levees can safely pass a severe storm that has a 1:100 chance of happening in any given year. The wall will help the city meet requirements of the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s National Flood Insurance Program. The Fort Worth District’s role is to monitor this Section 408 project to ensure the federal Dallas Floodway System performs its life safety role as designed.
