    100th Air Refueling Wing   

    U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Thomas Straub, 100th Logistics Readiness Squadron NCO in charge of fixed facilities, refuels a KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft assigned to the 100th Air Refueling Wing during the first-ever hot-pit refuel of a KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft in all of U.S. Air Forces in Europe command at Royal Air Force Mildenhall, Jan. 8 2021. “Hot-pit refueling,” is another name for an engine-running refuel while the aircraft is grounded. “Hot-pit refueling,” is another name for an engine-running refuel while the aircraft is grounded which will minimize the amount of maintenance and time-consuming inspections.
