NAVAL AMPHIBIOUS BASE CORONADO, Calif. (Jan. 8, 2021) Chief Hospital Corpsman (Select) Cory Fredenburg, attached to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Expeditionary Support Unit (EODESU) 1, gives a COVID-19 vaccination to a Sailor, Jan. 8, at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, Calif. Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group (EODGRU) 1 and its subordinate commands took part in a voluntary COVID-19 mass vaccination in support of Department of Defense priorities aimed at protecting the American people, maintaining readiness, and supporting the national COVID-19 response. EODGRU-1 is a critical part of the Navy Expeditionary Combat Force (NECF) that clears explosive hazards to provide access to denied areas; secures the undersea domain for complete freedom of maneuver; builds and fosters relationships with a constellation of capable and trusted partners; and protects the homeland and American way of life.
