NAVAL AMPHIBIOUS BASE CORONADO, Calif. (Jan. 8, 2021) Hospitalman Kyler Lenz, attached to Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Unit Naval Base San Diego, and Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Ariana McRimmon, attached to Naval Amphibious Base Coronado Dental Clinic, prepare COVID-19 vaccinations for personnel from Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group (EODGRU) 1 and its subordinate commands, Jan. 8, at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, Calif. The voluntary COVID-19 mass vaccination supported Department of Defense priorities aimed at protecting the American people, maintaining readiness and supporting the national COVID-19 response. EODGRU-1 is a critical part of the Navy Expeditionary Combat Force (NECF) that clears explosive hazards to provide access to denied areas; secures the undersea domain for complete freedom of maneuver; builds and fosters relationships with a constellation of capable and trusted partners; and protects the homeland and American way of life.
