NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Nov. 18, 2020) Seaman Matthew Chicon (in blue) practices a mechanical advantage control hold on Master-at-Arms 2nd Class Deshawn Burrell under instruction from Master-at-Arms 2nd Class Rachel Deaton during a security training course for Sailors assigned to the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73) at Huntington Hall. George Washington is undergoing refueling complex overhaul (RCOH) at Newport News Shipbuilding. RCOH is a multi-year project performed only once during a carrier’s 50-year service life that includes refueling the ship’s two nuclear reactors, as well as significant repairs, upgrades, and modernization.
