The USS Peleliu leaves Naval Base San Diego, Calif., to begin the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Certification Exercise, Aug. 15. The CERTEX is the MEU’s final training exercise before deploying later this year. The two-week training evolution evaluates the unit’s ability to complete missions it may face while forward deployed.
