U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Jeremy Morgan, a crew chief assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Maintenance Group, connects a fuel hose to a U.S. Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft, assigned to the 480th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron, Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, and deployed to Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates, during a hot-refuel performed at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, Dec. 2, 2020. Maintainers from the 379th Expeditionary Maintenance Group alongside fuel distribution operators from the 379th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron are trained and qualified to support 24-hour operations through hot-refueling which allows an aircraft’s engines to remain running during the refuel and quickly return to U.S. Central Command’s airspace.
