    31st Marine Expeditionary Unit       

    U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Brendan Terrible, a native of Elizabeth, New Jersey, and Lance Cpl. Harry Stapleton, a native of Linn, Missouri, both radio operators with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), set up and test a VULOS Antenna during a communications exercise (COMMEX) in the Central Training Area, Okinawa, Japan, Nov. 22, 2020. COMMEX is a pre-deployment exercise to ensure the unit is able to push out from the main body to set up communications and enable communication capabilities through field expedience. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps' only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premiere crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
