A Special Tactics Airman cuts into a barrel simulating a downed light aircraft at Combined Arms Training Center Camp Fuji, Japan, during a combat search and rescue exercise during Keen Sword on Oct. 29, 2020. A Special Tactics team located and treated two simulated injured aircrew members that were ejected from their aircraft during the training scenario. Keen Sword is a joint, bilateral, biennial field-training exercise involving U.S. military and Japan Self-Defense Force personnel, designed to increase combat readiness and interoperability of the Japan-U.S. alliance.
