Children of Kessler, Murray and Diamond elementary schools, and other volunteers clean historic headstones and learn proper care and cleaning of various grave markers Sept. 25 at Taylors Creek Cemetery on Fort Stewart in honor of National Public Lands Day. The children received a brief on the proper cleaning of headstones before they began, as well as a history of the town and how things were before Fort Stewart was a military installation.
