Stephen Reimers, 673d Surgical Operations Squadron staff nurse anesthetist, briefs military legislative staff on the Ground Surgical Team’s capabilities in providing on-site surgical care to combatant deployed forces at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Aug. 31, 2020. Military legislative staff visited JBER as part of an Alaska-wide tour of military installations for an overview of U.S. military entities in Alaska, focusing on their impacts and relevance to the Pacific theater. The staff were updated on current projects, future exercises and readiness, with an emphasis on forces assigned to Alaska and evolving Pacific Command and arctic issues.
