CJTF-OIR oversees the execution of the U.S. Counter-ISIS Train and Equip Fund (CTEF) in Iraq and Syria

Iraqi Brig. Gen. Beyan Al Kaabi poses with a cylinder valve grinder at Camp Taji, Iraq, Aug. 12, 2020. The grinder was the final piece delivered as part of a six-month divestment through the Counter-ISIS Train and Equip Fund to the Iraqi Army’s Wheeled Vehicle Depot at Taji. The depot is used to maintain the Iraqi Army’s wheeled vehicle maintenance program.

As the military arm of the Global Coalition to defeat Daesh in Iraq and Syria, CJTF-OIR oversees the execution of the U.S. Counter-ISIS Train and Equip Fund (CTEF) in these nations. CTEF is a U.S. Congressionally appropriated, enemy-focused, geographically-bound funding stream to enable our partner forces to defeat Daesh in Iraq and Syria. From 2014 to 2020, the CJTF-OIR CTEF program divested or obligated more than $5 billion to its partner security forces.
