    Maritime Enforcement Specialist 1st Class Scott Easley, of the U.S. Coast Guard's Maritime Security Response Team, conducts a basic initial safety inspection in the extremely hot lower decks of a fishing vessel in The Gambia's Exclusive Economic Zone. The Gambian navy was working recently with USS Simpson (FFG 56) and U.S. Coast Guard assets to support African Maritime Law Enforcement Partnership (AMLEP) operations, a branch of the Africa
    Partnership Station (APS), in an effort to build maritime safety and security on and off shore.
