    Maritime Enforcement Specialist 3rd Class Matthew Matheson, assigned to U.S. Coast Guard's Pacific Area Tactical Law Enforcement Team 107 and Gambian navy Leading Seaman Sainey Ngum conduct a basic initial safety inspection after boarding a vessel in The Gambia's Exclusive Economic Zone. The Gambian navy
    was working recently with USS Simpson (FFG 56) and U.S. Coast Guard assets to support African Maritime Law Enforcement Partnership (AMLEP) operations, a branch of the Africa Partnership Station (APS), in an effort to build maritime safety and security on and off shore.
