200717-N-UY393-0106 SAN DIEGO (July 17, 2020) Capt. Gregory Thoroman, commanding officer of the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), leads a briefing on the progress of damage control efforts pier side of the ship. On the morning of July 12, a fire was called away aboard the ship while it was moored pier side at Naval Base San Diego. Base, federal and shipboard firefighters responded to the fire.
