“I was born in Charleston, South Carolina and raised in Grand Junction, Colorado. I joined the Marine Corps to follow my father’s footsteps and become someone people could look up to. Growing up I helped take care of my great grandparents, and my family would host events in our town to raise awareness for appropriate medical responses to medical conditions that are common when you grow older. Through these events, people were getting the resources they needed to best assist in caring for others in critical health conditions. I learned when I was young that understanding how to appropriately respond to medical emergencies will save and preserve lives.”
“My mission in Guam was to offload and on-load Watson-class vehicle cargo ship USNS Dahl’s (T-AKR-312) Tactical Vehicles quickly and safely, as well as transport International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Containers to the Expeditionary Medical Facility (EMF) site using the MKR18 vehicle from the Dahl. This was an incredible opportunity given to me that meant a lot in the fight against COVID-19. I hope the EMF helps those who need it.”
