U.S. Soldiers of the 350th Infantry Regiment liberated the nearby towns of Isola Vicentina and Sandrigo. The parish journal of Sandrigo parish noted: “The Americans arrived in town at 3 in the morning of April 29. People came down in the streets and applauded to the arrival of the tanks.
