U.S. Soldiers of the 350th Infantry Regiment liberated the nearby towns of Isola Vicentina and Sandrigo. The parish journal of Sandrigo parish noted: “The Americans arrived in town at 3 in the morning of April 29. People came down in the streets and applauded to the arrival of the tanks. The ring of the church bells was everywhere and the scenes of joy were indescribable.” (Contributed photo by city of Sandrigo).
