A public park picnic shelter with a metal roof stands in an open field during late autumn or early winter, evidenced by bare deciduous trees and dormant brown grass. The overcast sky and leafless vegetation give the scene a cold, desolate atmosphere. The area appears to be a maintained recreational park with a gravel path and multiple picnic tables under the covered pavilion.

The Swamp Pond Recreation Area is shown March 26, 2020, at Fort McCoy, Wis. Swamp Pond is one of several fishing and recreation areas on the installation and is located on Fort McCoy’s South Post. The pond is stocked annually with rainbow trout and also has a variety of freshwater species for anglers. The area also includes a handicapped-accessible pier and a picnic pavilion.
