A modern aluminum floating dock or fishing pier extends over a calm, dark-water river or pond in what appears to be an early spring or late autumn setting. The dock features white metal railings and a grid-pattern non-slip surface. The surrounding landscape shows bare deciduous trees, dormant brown vegetation, and an overcast sky, with what appears to be a dam or water control structure visible in the background.

An installed pier is shown March 26, 2020, at Swamp Pond at Fort McCoy, Wis. New piers were installed in 2015 at all Fort McCoy lakes and ponds to allow greater access for people with disabilities. The pier improvements were completed through a multiagency effort that included the Directorate of Public Works; Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation; and the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security. Swamp Pond is a popular fishing stop on South Post as well. (U.S. Army Photo by Scott T. Sturkol, Public Affairs Office, Fort McCoy, Wis.)
