FORT CARSON, Colo. — Maj. Gen. Matthew W. McFarlane, commanding general, 4th Infantry Division and Fort Carson, gives well wishes to 627th Hospital Center Soldiers as they prepare to deploy to Washington March 27, 2020, at the Arrival/Departure Airfield Control Group facility by the Colorado Springs Airport, to provide supplemental routine and emergency medical support to communities and medical staff near Seattle. The medical personnel will allow local medical teams to focus their resources and efforts on detecting and treating patients believed to have been exposed to COVID-19. This response is part of the national approach to fighting and mitigating the spread of COVID-19. The Army is working with interagency partners, including the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, DOD, Military Health System and others to support and protect the military force and the American people.
