200303-N-HK234-5079 ATSUGI, Japan (March 3, 2020) Builder 1st Class Ismael Rodriguez (right) and Utilitiesman 3rd Class Jamey Hawk, deployed with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5’s Detail Atsugi, use a vibrator to level out concrete during placement for a sidewalk. U.S. Navy Seabees are constructing a loading dock for the Navy Exchange on board Naval Air Facility Atsugi. NMCB-5 is deployed across the Indo-Pacific region conducting high-quality construction to support U.S. and partner nations to strengthen partnerships, deter aggression, and enable expeditionary logistics and naval power projection.
