A very dark, low-light photograph showing a small open flame being held or lit by one or more individuals. The flame is the primary light source in the image, casting a warm orange-yellow glow on the surrounding hands and partial figures. The background is almost entirely black with faint silhouettes visible.

U.S. Marines with Marine Rotational Force-Europe 20.1, Marine Forces Europe and Africa, test the burn rate of time fuse before creating an abatis using explosives in Setermoen, Norway, Jan. 14, 2020. An abatis in this case uses whole trees taken down by explosives in an overlapping pattern at 45 degrees facing the enemy, which is used as an improvised anti-tank obstacle. MRF-E focuses on regional engagements throughout Europe by conducting various exercises, arctic cold-weather and mountain-warfare training, and military-to-military engagements, which enhance overall interoperability of the U.S. Marine Corps with allies and partners.
